Wineries & Wine Bars

Did you know New York State is the country's third-largest wine-producing state? Just south of Rochester, the Finger Lakes area is the state's central wine region and is considered by some "the Sonoma of the East." The region’s pure, sparkling glacial lakes and its gentle hillsides have their own micro-climate making it ideal for growing grapes. In fact, our Rieslings have gained a world-class reputation having won multiple gold medals.

Go For a Tasting Tour

If you’re looking for a wine tour, the area boasts wine trails that lead to more than 100 wineries dotting the Finger Lakes region.

Beginning just minutes from downtown Rochester, the Lake Ontario Wine Trail spans across beautiful Wayne County. The tour stops at boutique wineries, a state-of-the-art distillery, top-rated restaurants, unique shops and bountiful farm markets. All in a day's trip!

The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is America’s first organized and longest running wine trail and  is comprised of 16 dog-friendly member wineries. The trail also include cideries, a meadery, four distilleries and a taproom, offering something for everyone in your group.

Crush Beer & Wine Tours offer an all-inclusive wine tour that includes transportation, tasting fees, breathtaking views, educated tours and lunch at the New York Wine and Culinary Center.

For more than 35 years, the Colaruotolo family has been committed to producing superior, award-winning wines at their Casa Larga vineyards. The award-winning vineyard and pioneer winery is just a 15-minute drive south of downtown.  In addition to their Italian-inspired wines, Casa Larga also offers ice wines. Annually in September, Casa Larga hosts the Purple Foot Festival where visitors can stomp grapes, and of course, taste wine.

Nestled in the city’s Neighborhood of the Arts, is Rochester’s first urban winery, Living Roots Wine & Co. Paying homage to their roots, the vintners source grapes from different vineyards and growers from vastly different corners of the globe: the Finger Lakes and the regions surrounding Adelaide, Australia. Stop by for a taste or a bottle to take home.
